Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about our programs, events, or how to get involved? Here are answers to the things women ask us most. If you don't find what you're looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
What is the Resilient Woman Program?
The Resilient Woman Program is a personal and professional development program for women of every background, with a dedicated focus on Black and BIPOC communities. We place mental health and wellness at the core of everything we do, then equip women with the tools, skills, and networks to build confidence, financial independence, and long-term security through workshops, mentorship, coaching, and community. When women thrive, communities rise.
How is the Resilient Woman Program connected to Meet The Motivators?
The Resilient Woman Program is an initiative of Meet The Motivators (MTM), a Canadian not-for-profit dedicated to empowering women and girls in leadership. MTM is the parent organization, it hosts an annual two-day Symposium and a range of community initiatives. The Resilient Woman Program is its year-round program of workshops, coaching, and community support.
Who are your programs for?
Every woman is welcome. Alongside our general programming, we offer tailored support for survivors of gender-based violence, women rebuilding their lives after incarceration, newcomers, and women navigating mental health or addiction recovery. Whatever your starting point, there's a place for you here.
Where are your programs held?
Our in-person programs run through community hubs in the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto and Brampton. We also offer virtual sessions, which are open to women anywhere in the world.
What programs and workshops do you offer?
You'll find expert-led workshops, personalized coaching, and a supportive community spanning wellness and healing, financial empowerment, career and skilled-trades training, technology, and leadership development. Past and ongoing series have included TechHER Forward (AI empowerment), Built By HER (skilled trades), Voices of Strength, and Find Your Joy. Check our Programs and Events pages to see what's running now.
How long do programs typically run?
It varies. Some are single workshops or one-day events; others run as multi-week cohorts, for example, our TechHER Forward AI cohort ran over four weeks.
Are events in person, virtual, or both?
Both. Many workshops, retreats, and our annual Symposium are held in person recently in the Brampton area, including at Sheridan College, and we also run virtual sessions.
Are your workshops free?
All of our virtual workshops are free. Our in-person workshops carry a minimum $10 donation, and proceeds go directly toward continuing the Resilient Woman Program.
How do I register?
Head to our Registration page and choose the path that fits you, Attendee, Facilitator, or Mentor, then follow the steps from there.
What's the difference between registering as an Attendee, Facilitator, or Mentor?
Attendee — you're joining a program, workshop, or event to take part and grow.
Facilitator — you're a professional who wants to share your expertise by leading dynamic workshops in a hybrid (virtual and in-person) format. We welcome facilitators across areas like mental health, fitness and wellness; skilled trades and non-traditional careers; and entrepreneurship, leadership, and corporate roles.
Mentor — you want to guide and support other women one-on-one through the program.
How does the mentorship program work?
Mentees request a mentor of their choice through our website. We then introduce the pair, and you arrange your own meetings based on availability. Each mentor commits a minimum of 10 hours to their mentee.
Can I volunteer or get involved behind the scenes?
Yes. Meet The Motivators and the Resilient Woman Program are powered by a dedicated team of volunteers, and we're always glad to welcome more. Reach out through our Contact page to get involved.
What events do you host, and how do I hear about them?
We host workshops, community gatherings, leadership retreats, and our annual two-day Symposium and Gala. The best way to stay in the loop is to check our Events page.
